Volunteer Role Profile

Place for Hope is looking to expand their Practitioner team.

As a Practitioner you will have an understanding of and respect for faith communities. You may already, but not necessarily, be a trained facilitator or mediator.

​There will be a one-day selection process on one of 14 or 16 May 2018 in central Scotland. Successful applicants will then commit to an 8-day training programme, covering key aspects of personal development, conflict and mediation skills, facilitation skills, working in a faith context, skills assessment and more. On successful completion of the training and assessment, applicants will be invited to join the Place for Hope Practitioner team.

Application deadline: 1 May 2018
Training Dates (applicants must be available for all following dates):
Phase 1: Wednesday 27 – Friday 29 June 2018, Conforti Institute, Coatbridge
Phase 2: Monday 1 –Wednesday 3 October 2018, Conforti Institute, Coatbridge
Skills Assessment: 2 separate dates, TBC
Commissioning and full team CPD: Sunday 11 – Monday 12 November 2018, Peebles Hydro

Residential training will normally run from 10:00 on day one, ending at 17:00 on day three.
One-day sessions will run from 10:00 – 17:00

Training and Equipping Development Manager

Salary Scale: £28,527 -  £34,485 (full time equivalent per annum; starting scale dependent on skill and experience)
Status: Part Time, Fixed Term – 21 hours p/w; this fixed term contract will run in the first instance until 31/12/19, reviewable dependent on funding.
Location: Home Working, with travel for events throughout Scotland

Start date: tbc depending on availability, but by 01/09/18 at latest

Job Summary
This new fixed term post of Training and Equipping Development Manager will support the charity with all aspects of our training. They will have particular responsibility for enhancing and delivering our external training programmes, including our set programmes and those we tailor for clients. In addition, they will oversee the recruitment and ongoing training (CPD) of our Practitioners. Previous high-level experience of training, resourcing and equipping in the charity sector is essential.
